The ICHCA Luncheons aim to meet this objective through expert and informed speakers addressing specific issues and elements in the total logistics chain.
Topic: "The Port of Brisbane - Now and the Future"
Dr. W.F.C. (Bill) Tranberg, Senior Manager Infrastructure Planning and Chief Engineer - Port of Brisbane Corporation. In this role he is primarily responsible for oversight of PBC’s Capital Development Budget of around $200 million annually.
Dr Tranberg was one of the main authors of Keyport Brisbane Strategic Plan (1991). This plan identified both direct port issues plus the needs for improved port access. Critical access upgrades it foreshadowed have now come about, including the standard gauge rail link to the port, Stage 1 of the Port Motorway to improve road access and the deepening of the port’s main access channel to 15 metres. Other projects included in the plan were the Future Port Expansion Seawall and the Hamilton Relocation Project. A key current objective of the role is to see the next stage of the Port of Brisbane Motorway reach reality.
