It's been a long time....

It should be an E15B.
Check the brake switch (and roll pin that actuates it)under the floor-board. I can't remember, but I think it limits travel speed...

What's the resistance on the accel. pot? Does it sweep nicely?

Check to make sure both drive motors are working.
Steer all the way and try to travel. The inside motor should shut off.
Steer to the other stop, try to travel again. If there is a difference, then you know where the problem is...Switches, contacts, motors.

I seem to remember having a problem with the current shunt on one of those, that caused very slow travel....

Hope that helps you start....

make sure the brake switches are working correctly, some units do not shut off power completely when the brake switch is "on" (either park or wheel/drive brake switches) but just cut the torque out of the drive circuit.

The serial # of the truck should be stamped on the right hand side of the frame at the horizontal nearest the battery box or on the frame above the right hand drive wheel. It sounds like the model is an E15 and if that is the case the serial # should start with 324.....
The problem you are having can be caused by the thermal switches in the drive motors in which case you need to remove the motors in order to replace them. However first you should check the parking brake switch which is located beneath the parking brake lever. If the switch is bad or masadjusted it would cause the truck to drive extremely slow.
