My customer has a yale GLC040 with a belt driven SOHC mazda engine (F2 Z25D 2.2l). the water pump is noisy, and the shaft can be seen shaking when thw engine is run with the timing covers removed. What is involved in replacing this pump? Is it a practicle job to do on the road, and are any special tools needed? Thanks.

It is a fairly easy job to do on the road and there are no special tools needed.

I also recommend changing the timing belt, cam and crank seals while you have the front of the motor open. It will save your customer some down time and additional excess labor down the road.
