I find it amazing that you have a forum you for news and industry whispers
And when some thing is posted some companies clearly get them removed
It’s amazing when you look at some of the subject matter in threads

“Tell the truth and shame the devil”
“Can things get any worse for lindi”
“Heli forklifts
“What’s up with Toyota”?

A comment has been removed from this discussion thread while we have certain facts verified”

I know the admin here sometimes cleans up threads that where going "off topic" with banter. but just the list of threads bb17 added should show that at least in "industry whispers" they leave a lot of stuff "not edited".

I wish these forums would get closer to the facts! I have just checked their last accounts and they are pretty profitable. If they are going into administration god help the rest of us!

people need to look at the big picture ,especially in todays economic world, they are maybe getting to spout off there venom about there ex company, but they need to think about the people that are left they are f...g with peoples livleyhoods, bad press like that can be seen by companies customers ,they could loose further work and the redundancy circle goes on,these forums should be about genuine gossip and fun, if you have a problem personnally with a company you should phone up the man that owns it and tell him or take them to court, before you all jump on the my back i dont work for the above mentioned company or ever had at any time.

While I ain't no lawyer, (IANL) I would also like to warn anyone that any time they say something/anything in an open Internet forum, even if they use an e-mail address that is faked (or easily setup and torn down like hotmail or gmail), they may think they are anonymous, but it is pretty much trivial for an attorney to hire someone [and file a few papers in certain courts that have strong laws about slander, like those in Great Britain or some states in the USA] to find who that person really is based on the IP number and time of the web-server's computer logs. I would also bet there is an expectation [of that same attorney] that the attorney and his hired help will get paid for this work by the person making a less than flattering claim, and not by the company being slammed (who hired them).
I would also note that [at least in some states in the USA, and as long as the webpage can be read in that state, then] the companies attorneys can argue they have jurisdiction in whatever state would be more sympathetic towards the company and inconvenient to the person being accused of doing the slamming. Further, this does not require either party to operate in that state, but the attorneys each party has to pay for will be lic. to practice in that state.
I am also aware of a number of companies whose business model is running searches for corporations to see if anyone is slamming them on the Internet. if you have any questions, do a google search for "websense dot com" to see how at least one of those companies advertises the service.
About the only way to avoid these types of problems is to be in some country that does not police the laws about copyright and corporate slander the same as they do in the EU, Great Britain or the USA.
A 'for instance' would be; I would not expect someone in say Croatia to worry about slamming some company in the USA. but I would expect some attorney/barrister in the USA to file papers for someone in the USA that says "you should not do business with 'company M' " whomever 'company M' is.
"Free speech" is not an absolute freedom, in my opinion it is only slightly more real than an advertising slogan.

It would also depend on where the server is located as to what law is applied,ip addresses can be spoofed, and multiple user accounts and email addresses are also easy to setup. Its a pity the mods on here take a lenient stance on the posts, but i suppose they need to protect any income they receive from companies wishing to advertise.I dont suppose there is another engineer forum were freedom of speech can be expressed without fear of removal ??
