Can someone shed some light on the theory of operation for ac motors.  I had a customer who had a toyota with twin drive ac motor controllers, the sauer danfoss motion drives.   One of the motors had a shorted winding and was sent away for repairs.

The motor was repaired and refit last week, but the problem now is that when in forward the motor goes backwards and when put in reverse the motor goes forward.

Can I change the power cables in order for it to work correctly?  Or has the motor somehow been rebuilt incorrectly?

(The other motor still works correctly its just the motor that has been repaired.)

The direction and control of an AC drive motor comes from the sensor bearing in the motor.  I would guess that either you have the wrong sensor bearing or it is wired up incorrectly, or maybe just in the wrong way round.

switch any two of the uvw cables and that will change the direction-  controller or motor

uvwuvwuvwuvwuvwuvw = rotation in one direction
wvuwvuwvuwvuwvuwvu = rotation in the opposite direction

therefore changing any two cables will sequence the motor in the other direction.

Discharge the invertors??

Oops..ok changed the cablles over and that seems to have solved that problem.  Thank you for the info.

What i noticed when i wne tout to the truck was that on the display it comes up as demo-18 and the truck drives very slow.

Anyone come across this before?? I could not find anything on the manual and i could not enter through the display to make any changes as when i press the buttons nothing happens.

Also when the motor was repaired they forgot to put the thermistor back in hence a thermistor c2-2 fault code appears.

All working OK now.  Thanks for the help everyone.
