I have a Clark C500-80,lot #5955 cushion tire truck with a Perkins 4.2482 diesel and a single speed transmission. I also have a C500YS80 lot #6665 pneumatic tire truck with a G4.236 Perkins gas engine and a 2 speed transmission. I would like to put the diesel engine in the C500YS80. Does anyone know if I can and what, if any, parts that I would have to change.

id imagine the transmissions are geared for the particular engine since diesels operate at lower rpms
id check to see if you could swap the trans and engine together and hope it bolts up correctly to the driveaxle
get hold of the parts manuals and see where the machines are the same and where they are different
good luck
