Old Clark forklift CFY40B parts source

Hello:

Been watching this site for a little bit before buying a forklight. I have a hobby farm & need a forklift with rough terrain tires for occasional yard work. Just picked up a Clark CFY40B LP with double stage lift. Really happy with it.

Been on Google trying to find a source for future parts (and manual). Figured I may as well make a post here requesting help for a good parts source.  I'd like to have a source with a picture catalog if possible.

I plan on repainting(restoring) the unit and will need CLARK stickers etc.  The unit has a 12 volt system and my only concern is the loose steering, I can see that the steering link kuckles (or ball sockets?) are loose on the main steering shaft. They also look like they have threaded/adjustable fitting. Maybe I can turn them in some.

On another note:

I'm in a good spot living on the international border with Quebec, Canada and Champlain, NY  (I-87 in NY and 15 in PQ) for anyone needing  a staging point or drop off point for cross border goods. Vermont is only 3 miles east.

Can also help with transportation and delivery now that I'm retired.

The Clark CFY40B was in its day a tough unit. However, the steering was a real issue with these units. The steering has so many rods, levers, bell-cranks, connections, etc that it is almost impossible to remove all the "slack". Just a little movement in each connection adds up to a half-turn by the time it gets to the steering wheel. It can be improved, but, it will take a lot of money and/or time to make a big difference.
On the note of parts....your local Clark dealer can help you with a parts book and service manual.

You are right on, the steering is a real challenge, poor design. I'm looking forward to correcting it.

I need to locate a manual, don't even know what the shift pattern is, or where the various fluids go. Just started it, drove it off the trailer and parked it. Also my first experience with LP, not as responsive as a gasoline carbed engine.

It really runs good but lacks power...can the LP unit be adjusted to flow more LP?

By the way, I work part time for an outfit that makes distributors and certain electronic ignition components for automobiles. If there is a need for a common distributor or electronic component that is hard to find or expensive let me know, our outfit is always looking to expand. Any need for points to electronic ignition systems? Of course, the more of a specific application the better production chances.

Can't guarantee anything, but if I don't ask, I won't get an answer.

Not sure if this is the right forum, I bought a old cfy40B clark lift. need to find out where i can get inexpensive parts. also steering has a lot of play is there any easy fix for this looks like the steering box has a lot of play. can the steering box be replaced or rebuilt.
