The BT VCE100 man-up VNA truck will now be made in Sweden. |
Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) will buy the very narrow aisle forklift (VNA) business of Dambach Lagersysteme GmbH & Co KG for an undisclosed price.
Dambach has been a supplier of three VNA truck models to TMHE for over 10 years. Under the new agreement, production of the BT brand of VNA trucks will be moved from Bischweier in Germany to the TMHE factory in Mjölby in Sweden.
"VNA trucks made by Dambach have been included in our product portfolio for many years," says Hans Van Leeuwen, TMHE executive vice president of marketing and sales. "Dambach has now made the strategic decision to focus on its core stacker crane business, and TMHE will integrate the Dambach range into the existing VNA range built in our factory in Mjölby."
"We are confident this process can be achieved in a seamless manner and will not affect our service to our customers," Van Leeuwen adds.
Headquartered in Sweden, TMHE has a European office in Brussels and production centres in Ancenis (France), Bologna (Italy) and Mjölby (Sweden). With about 4,000 service engineers, around 8,000 employees, along with a network of independent distributors and dealers, TMHE is the European regional organisation of Toyota Material Handling Group, which is part of Toyota Industries Corporation.
With over 40 years of expertise in intralogistics, Dambach Lagersysteme GmbH & Co KG, based in Bischweier, Germany, is a medium-sized company that manufactures automatic storage and retrieval machines for high-racking installations.
