Jungheinrich - "Ground breaking" Ceremony |
German warehousing technology supplier Jungheinrich AG has fast-tracked a new testing and development centre at Norderstedt, near Hamburg.
The new centre, which cost USD6.1 million (5 million euros), will cover 5,900 square metres. Construction began on June 29 and it is expected to be operational by January 2006, a company statement said. The facility will test and inspect new developments in forklift technology and components. The centre would employ up to 60 people.
Since 2000, Jungheinrich R&D spending has increased 36 per cent. In 2004, Jungheinrich spent USD45.77 million (38 million euros) on R&D. There are 360 R&D employees groupwide.
