Konecranes wins Spanish order
HYVINKÄÄ, FinlandSpanish logistics and port handling company Dragados SPL has ordered 12 rubber-tyred-gantry cranes (RTG) from KCI Konecranes for port operations in Malaga at Terminales del Sudeste.
Terminales del Sudeste director general Elias Gutiérrez said Dragados chose the RTGs for their electromechanical features "that reduce maintenance costs and emissions".
The crane structures will be made in Poland and the crane components in Finland.
SAPO's Kalmar first
STOCKHOLM, SwedenSouth African Port Operations (SAPO) has ordered 12 all-electric rubber-tyred-gantry cranes (RTG) from Kalmar.
It is SAPO's first RTG order after several years of buying Kalmar straddle carriers.
The value of the 6+1 wide and one-over-five high RTGs was not disclosed. Six cranes will arrive at the Port of Durban's second container terminal, Pier One, in the northern spring of 2007 and the rest during the same year's northern autumn.
Kalmar has delivered more than 130 straddle carriers to SAPO facilities in the past five years.

Hazard-area forklifts for Euro market
HAMBURG, GermanyLinde has introduced the T20 SF (Ex) pallet truck and L14/16 (Ex) pallet stacker for use in ATEX zone 2 areas.
Manufactured by Linde-owned company Proplan GmbH, in Obernburg, near Linde's Aschaffenburg plant, the forklifts are exported mainly to European countries that follow the European ATEX directive for explosion-hazard areas.
The T20 SF (Ex) has a two tonne maximum load capacity. The L14/16 (Ex) comes in maximum load capacities of 1.4 tonnes and 1.6 tonnes.
