A crime round-up includes forklift-related incidents in the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia and Ontario and the US state of New Jersey.

Burglars used a forklift to load 40 to 50 pallets of frozen dried cod fish worth CAD500,000 on trucks at a Shag Harbour fish warehouse in the province of Nova Scotia between 4-7 June.

Packaged in cardboard boxes, the fish weighed more than 129,000 lb. (58,080 kg), according to the Barrington office of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

A team of investigators from Barrington, Shelburne and Yarmouth is looking into the theft.

Shag Harbour is a small fishing village on the province's south shore within the municipality of Barrington.

Meanwhile, police charged three teenagers with burglary, theft and criminal mischief for allegedly vandalising a business in Glendora, New Jersey and stealing two forklifts and numerous computers on 11 June.

The teens were seen driving two forklifts through Glendora. Police found the forklifts stuck in a backyard of an Eighth Avenue residence and backtracked to find evidence at a business on Austin Avenue.

The culprits apparently broke into the business, caused thousands of dollars in damages and drove the forklifts through a security fence in exiting the site. Police note that one of the forklifts damaged a Dodge pickup truck on Eighth Avenue and that one of the teenagers had possession of the keys of another of the business's vehicles.

Separately, police in the regional municipality of Halton, Ontario report arresting a 35-year-old Hamilton, Ontario man in a plant robbery and seeking two others.

New undisclosed evidence from the city of Burlington's criminal investigations bureau led to the arrest in the 32-month-old cold case robbery.

Two employees were locking the AH Tallman Bronze Co Ltd business late on 9 October 2008. Three suspects confronted the workers and forced them into the shop, pepper sprayed and assaulted them and bound their feet and hands.

The suspects used a forklift truck to load 1,000 lb. (450 kg) of bulk copper wire into a truck. They stole the company forklift and an employee-owned van.

The copper was valued at more than CAD115,000.
