Free vests boost forklift safety
Reading, United KingdomMitsubishi Forklift Trucks is supporting the National Forklift Safety Week by giving away high-visibility vests to forklift users in September.
General manager Mike Jones says forklift accidents often occur because the driver did not see the victim. The vest, available in a wide range of sizes, has reflective braces and body-band types for stand-out visibility.

JCB team achieve world record
Rocester, United KingdomJCB workers, father and son Kelvin and Shane Amos, have entered the book of Guinness World Records as the fastest parent and child in a marathon.
Assembly line worker Kelvin, 52, and manufacturing group leader Shane, 31, notched up an aggregate time of 6 hours, 3 minutes and 7 seconds to complete this year's London Marathon.
Experienced runner Kelvin completed the 26 mi., 385 yd. (42.4 km) course in 2 hours 51 minutes and 3 seconds, while Shane crossed the finishing line in 3 hours, 12 minutes and 4 seconds.
Keppel receives VNA trucks
Foshan, ChinaA number of Linde forklifts, including very-narrow-aisle (VNA) trucks, were delivered to Keppel Logistics in Foshan in a 29 July ceremony.
The VNA trucks, capable of picking up to 15 m (49.2 ft.), Linde claims, are the highest order-picking VNA man-up turret head trucks in the Chinese market.
Keppel Logistics of Singapore is one of the top international freight forwarders in Asia and China.

MCFA reaches milestone of 350,000 forklifts
Houston, TX, United StatesJoint venture Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc (MCFA) marked the manufacturing of its 350,000th forklift during an 18 August ice cream social in Houston.
Hiroshi Nagai, appointed MCFA president in April, and more than 700 other employees participated in the celebration. The milestone forklift?a unique blue-painted MCFA-branded internal-combustion pneumatic-tyre lift truck in the 3,000-7,000 lb. (1,350-3,150 kg) family?was displayed and has a future in the Houston plant's fabrication and assembly operations.
MCFA says 350,000 forklifts in a straight line could stretch across the state of Texas. "MCFA prides itself on manufacturing quality and reliable products," said Jay Gusler, MCFA director of operations. "We're excited to reach this milestone of 350,000 forklifts produced from our Houston manufacturing facility and appreciate the support of our employees, dealer network and customers in helping us realize this major company achievement."
Formed in 1992, MCFA distributes the Mitsubishi, Cat and Jungheinrich brands of forklifts and narrow-aisle warehouse products.
