ID Systems GmbH is partnering with Burger Hub- und Transportmittel (BHT) GmbH, the German distributor for TCM forklifts, to market its didBOX fleet management system.

BHT's forklift dealerships will supply the driver identification system for materials handling trucks. The system uses electronic keys to record operator login and vehicle usage time, as well as vehicle impact information, to increase worker safety and fleet productivity.

"The current trend in the materials handling industry shows that driver identification systems using electronic keys and providing productivity metrics are becoming increasingly important to our customers," says BHT managing director Thomas Schmehl.

ID Systems managing director Alexander Glasmacher says his company has implemented more than 50,000 vehicle management systems worldwide, and is "very excited to have found a competent and experienced partner in BHT who has been servicing the German material handling market for more than 30 years".

"BHT, as distributor for TCM forklifts in Germany, works in co-operation with approximately 50 forklift dealerships, through which we will be able to market our innovative product range to an even wider group of customers. Our next step is to expand the co-operation with BHT and TCM across several European countries," he explains.

Glasmacher says historically in North America, 30-40% of ID Systems' revenues come from partner channels. "We believe that BHT could easily grow to contribute a double-digit percentage of I.D. Systems' revenues in Europe."

The didBOX system ensures that only authorised and trained drivers can use specific vehicles or vehicle groups. It also has impact sensor and strobe light options to help reduce damage costs resulting from unsafe driving behaviour.

ID Systems distributes and implements its wireless vehicle management solutions through direct and indirect channels. Its direct distribution team consists of inside sales support, territory account directors, project managers and performance engineers. It also supports forklift dealers in promoting its products by providing system certification programs, marketing tools and sales lead registration management.
