Logistics specialist Linfox is managing the warehouse and transport operations at retail giant Coles' new regional distribution centre, its largest in Australia.

The new centre, based in Truganina in Melbourne, supplies 212 Coles supermarkets in Victoria and Tasmania.

The 80,000 sqm state-of-the-art site predominantly handles fast-moving ambient grocery items and operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Around 700 warehouse employees despatch between 1.6 to 2 million cartons per week, with around 1,500 loads delivered to Coles stores.

Linfox worked closely with the retailer to design the racking layout and ensure an efficient flow of products through the facility.
