Real Time Solutions recently fitted close to 90 FMX units at Langeberg and Ashton in the Western Cape near Robertson, in partnership with Toyota SIE. FMX, a modular forklift truck management system, can be tailored according to the needs of a specific operation and priced accordingly."We are very proud to be associated with Langeberg and Ashton," says John Valentine, National Business Development Manager at Real Time Solutions, "and their commitment - manifested by this massive investment - inspires tremendous faith in the industry as a whole.
FMX really comes into it's own here and we are very excited about the growth prospects the Agriculture Sector brings. We can comfortably cater to the needs of a single-FLT fleet or much larger and save the end-user money which can be reallocated into other

areas of the operational budget. Tangible savings from FMX features coupled with live reports and alerts from the machines, make our forklift management system almost a necessity in the current market."
FMX units at Langeberg and Ashton were fitted to coincide with the new picking season and took about 2-3 hours each to install. Daniel Johnson, Fleet Controller of Langeberg and Ashton, had this to say about streamlining operations by utilising the FMX technology: "Increased pricing and cost pressures placed on the large retailers have resulted in some of these pressures being relayed to us, the producers. When you can't cut the price on your product any further, any astute businessman immediately looks to reducing operational costs. Farmers and retailers alike are feeling the strain of ever-increasing costs in electricity, fuel, feed and labour. Streamlining of operations

thus becomes crucial across the board, whether you are a fruit farmer, fruit processor or involved in any other agricultural output."
Real Time Solutions has attributed the success of FMX largely to the ongoing support of their dealer partners, such as Toyota SIE and other major dealers. Says Valentine, "Such partnerships with various leaders in materials handling has given us the ability to create cutting edge technology to suit any operation or budget. Toyota SIE believed in us from the beginning, as is evidenced by their own fleets comprising several thousand machines fitted with FMX."
