Spreader manufacturer Bromma will move its headquarters to Singapore from 1 January 2015.
This is in line with the company's strategy to boost its stake in the growing Asian market. President Per-Anders Holmström and financial director Christopher Thiele have already relocated to Singapore.
"Already today, more containers are handled in Asia (than) the rest of the world combined and the Asian market will continue to grow significantly faster," says Holmström. "I want to be closer to this market in order to understand what Bromma have to do to support the needs (of) Asian customers."
He emphasises that Bromma will continue to invest in its operations and support the customers and markets outside Asia.
"There should be no doubts about that! We are the leading global spreader supplier and we intend to stay in that position. Developing together with our existing customers in all parts of the world is essential in order to do that."
After the relocation, the global management team of Bromma will be equally split between Singapore and Stockholm.
Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Bromma claims it is the world leader in crane spreaders. Operating for over 50 years, Bromma has delivered crane spreaders to 500 terminals in 90 nations on six continents, and Bromma spreaders are in service today at 97 out of the world's largest 100 container ports.
