Kalmar will deliver four reach stackers for laden handling to the Port of Felixstowe in the UK.
The stackers have a 45 T capacity and are supplied with telescopic Bromma spreaders, which incorporate fully integrated overheight legs for out-of-gauge cargo handling duties. Delivery is scheduled for February 2015 and includes a full maintenance agreement. The contract value is confidential.
Dave Patterson, market area director for Kalmar UK and Ireland, says: "The Kalmar reach stacker is well adapted to all kinds of diversified cargo handling. The lifting equipment, boom, attachment options and rotation possibilities allow the driver to improve the unit's work efficiency.
"The equipment will help our customers reduce fuel consumption while improving customer service."
The deal adds to eight Kalmar reach stackers, three loaded container handlers and 15 empty container handlers already in use at the port.
The Port of Felixstowe is UK's biggest and busiest container port, and one of Europe's largest. It handles more than 3.7 million TEUs and about 3,000 ships yearly.
