Forkliftaction News has been unable to verify industry speculation about the demise of Omega Lift of Bolton, Ontario.

The Omega Lift website is still active, but attempts to contact the business have failed, with emails to all the listed email addresses and to founder Greg Pania bouncing and the phone unanswered.

According to one source, Omega Lift's bank called in its loan two weeks ago and the company was unable to meet its payroll.

The informant claims that "the doors are shut and no more business is going on at the factory. It looks like they are bankrupt."

Our search revealed no record of a bankruptcy filing as of July 28th on the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy listings.

Forkliftaction News has reported on the Canadian manufacturer's run-ins with disgruntled customers, including a 2014 fraud action brought by LoneStar Forklift Inc of Garland, Texas.

The company has also been the target of many posts on the Forkliftaction Discussion Forums, with numerous customers claiming to have not received equipment they had paid for.

Just this week, a Texas-based customer posted about a similar situation, and says: "We have the local police, Wells Fargo Bank and detectives involved and our next step is to personally visit them before the lawyers."

A number of suppliers have also spoken out about difficulties in getting Omega Lift to pay its bills. Two weeks ago, a vendor posted a Google review stating he was "still chasing for (his) money from last year".

Another supplier said: "Apparently, this company has a problem with honouring (cheques) issued. Back in December of 2015, they purchased parts from us and paid by (cheque). Not only did the (cheque) bounce but, additionally, their UPS account was found to be invalid, so additional fees were also incurred by our company."

Omega Lift lists a couple of prestigious business awards on its website, including a 2010 top trophy from the local Caledon Chamber of Commerce and a 2008 Global Trader of the Year from Ontario's Ministry of Economic Development.

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
