Yale showcases new forklift series
Greenville, NC, United StatesYale Materials Handling Corporation has unveiled its new generation of electric forklifts, the ERC-VA series.
New features and updates include newly designed operator compartments, 16% more floor space, relocated multifunction displays for enhanced visibility and precise pallet control, and improved brake pedal layout. The ERC-VA series offers lifting capacities of 3,000-4,000lbs (1,361-1,814kg) and uses AC motors and transistor controller technology for the traction and hydraulic systems.
Yale says tests have shown that the new series consumes the lowest amount of energy compared to similar models.
Hyster nominated for two award categories
Alton, United KingdomHyster's tyre-saving technology has been nominated in the Fork Lift Truck Association Awards for Excellence innovation and environmental categories.
Hyster Big Trucks' Antoon Cooijmans says the technology is a major breakthrough in empty container handler design.
"Tyre changes on large container handlers are not only costly but can be time consuming too ... so fewer tyre changes results in less downtime," Cooijman says.
He adds that less rubber waste also means a better environmental footprint.
The awards will be held on 12 February in Birmingham. Voting has already started at
www.fork-truck.org.uk/voting-card and is open to anyone interested in the materials handling industry.
