Pink forklift raises money for charity
Houston, TX, United StatesMitsubishi Forklift Trucks of Houston has sold a pink electric forklift to raise funds to support male breast cancer research.
The factory dealership owned by Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc launched the "Real Men Drive Pink" campaign that included selling a pink forklift to restaurant furnishings designer Golden Town International. Proceeds from the sale were donated to the Susan G Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
The American Cancer Society estimates 2,000 men were diagnosed with breast cancer in the US in 2010.
TCM appoints new UK distributor
Ipswich, United KingdomNew company T.UK Ltd has been appointed the UK distributor of Japanese forklift manufacturer TCM.
T.UK was set up by 41-year-old Darren White who was formerly Doosan Infracore Forklifts' European sales manager. In May 2010, White bought forklift dealer United Lift Trucks and increased its turnover from GBP600,000 (USD948,010) to GBP1 million (USD1,580,016) per annum.
The new company will initially operate from United's premises on the old London Road in Copdock, on the outskirts of Ipswich. United will become the TCM dealer for the Ipswich area.
CooperSH enters Scotland
Kenilworth, United KingdomCooperSH's engineering service has entered Scotland for the first time after receiving a service and maintenance contract from Malcolm Rail's Edinburgh and Glasgow rail terminals.
The contract was awarded after CooperSH helped Malcolm Rail reach 98% uptime at its Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal in the UK.
The Scotland terminals have Konecranes reachstackers that handle about 260 containers weekly.
PECO pallet crosses borders
Yonkers, NY, United StatesPECO Pallet is now shipping its signature red wood block pallets to manufacturers and retailers in Mexico. In December, the company registered PECO Pallet Mexico as a legal entity and an authorised importer. The company's customers can now easily transport goods on PECO pallets across the border to and from Mexico.
PECO Pallet CEO David Lee says the move represents the next step in the company's service expansion. Headquartered in New York, the firm maintains 136 product service centres and manufacturing plants in North America.
