Forklift executive rides for Transaid
Tipton, United KingdomScott Whittlestone, business development manager at Flexi Narrow Aisle, will cycle 340 km (211 mi.) from London to Brussels to raise money for charity.
Whittlestone is part of a team that will raise funds for Transaid's work to improve transport infrastructure across sub-Saharan Africa and other developing countries.
"Transport is essential for life but the reality for many people across Africa and the developing world is that access to transport is poor, inadequate or unreliable," Whittlestone says. "Road crashes kill an estimated 1.3 million people each year - in sub-Saharan Africa, road deaths are the third biggest killer behind HIV/AIDS and malaria."
